Negu Hurbilak

Directed by the Negu Collective

Cinematography by Javier Seva

In 2011, the prolonged conflict in the Basque Country seems to be coming to an end. A young woman flees with a clear objective: to cross the border, the "muga", because she knows that this will take her far from her place of birth, from her home, where she is no longer safe. In the middle of her flight she arrives to Zubieta, a border town where ancient myths and modern conflicts seem to converge. Hidden in the attic of one of the houses in the village, she begins to observe a daily life that seems as immobile as a stone. As time goes by, a diffuse and indefinite time, where days turn into nights and nights into days, her flight becomes increasingly dense and complex.
